Continued Support for Version 2.5 of their Popular Cartooning Software

San Francisco — March 16, 2010 — Digital Anarchy, a leading provider of cost-effective software for photographers and digital artists, today announced a free update to their popular ToonIt! Photo plugin for Aperture. ToonIt! 2.5 is now fully compatible with the 64-bit mode introduced by Apple’s Aperture 3, while still supporting 32-bit architectures and Aperture 2.

ToonIt! automatically takes photos and gives them a variety of cartoon and illustrated looks. A believable ‘toon’ effect is easily created, and Aperture users have a great deal of control in customizing the cartoon with different paint styles, shading and outlines. The software uses advanced algorithms from Toonamation, Inc to create its cartoon shading and lines. One of the key features of ToonIt! is the ability to turn people and faces into believable cartoons. It’s never been so easy to turn photographs into illustrated portraits or a graphic novel.

"Photographers responded tremendously to our initial release of ToonIt! for use in Aperture. A year later, Apple has given us a new 64-bit version of Aperture and we have a free 64-bit update ready to go," said Jim Tierney, president of Digital Anarchy. "Aperture 3 is a great way for photographers to use ToonIt! to create unique portraits of their clients.”

ToonIt! has been used by photographers and digital artists to give their clients a wide variety of unique and cool options for their portraits or designs. Working within Aperture’s 64-bit environment provides an even faster way of working with RAW files and applying effects like ToonIt!. It’s an excellent workflow for photographers doing novelty photos, event photography, and even traditional portraits, where the client wants something more fun and creative.

Pricing and Availability
ToonIt! Photo 2.5 for Aperture is regularly priced at $129 USD, but will be on sale for $99 until March 26, 2010. ToonIt! Aperture runs in Aperture 2 and 3.
