The folks at Panasonic have been busy of late, attending both the Consumer Electronics Show and the Photo Marketing Association show in quick succession, with a raft of announcements at each. For CES, there were four new camcorders – the hard disk-based HDC-HS9, plus three SD-based models: the HDC-SD9, SDR-SW20, and SDR-S7. The company also showed fifteen new VIERA HDTV sets ranging from 42” to 65” diagonal, as well as the world's first Class 6 32GB SDHC card in prototype form. For PMA, the company followed up with no less than nine new digicams, including two models apiece for the TZ, FS and LZ-series, plus the Lumix FX35, FS3 and LS80. Panasonic also announced a cooperation with T-Mobile and Google on the development of a new WiFi-capable Lumix digicam.
