Our Firmware Friday roundup is here once more, and this week it's packed with cameras from Ricoh, Samsung and Sigma. If you're shooting with the Samsung NX1, Sigma dp1 Quattro, Sigma dp2 Quattro, Sigma dp3 Quattro or Ricoh WG-30W, you'll want to get your camera ready for the weekend with a quick update to ensure you're up to date on features and bug fixes!

Sigma dp1 Quattro, dp2 Quattro and dp3 Quattro firmware updates

We'll start off this week with Sigma's dp Quattro-series cameras, all of which share the same list of updates. (Not surprisingly, given that they're much the same cameras other than their choice of lens design.) Sigma says that with all three dp Quattro cameras, autofocus speed has been improved, and you can now choose whether or not a half-press of the shutter button will trigger an AF cycle. Daylight and Flash white balance are also said to have been improved, and you can optionally capture a custom white balance using the AE-L button rather than the shutter button.

As if that wasn't already enough, support for certain functions of Eye-Fi's Wi-Fi capable Secure Digital flash cards has been added, and the number of display modes has been doubled from two to four. (Display mode menu options have also been adjusted at the same time.) And two final changes include a display of the maximum burst length in Interval Timer mode regardless of the display setting, as well as a fix for an occasional problem with saving of images using the S-Hi option.

Samsung NX1 firmware version 1.32

Moving on to Samsung, the company has taken its flagship Samsung NX1 compact system camera up to firmware version 1.32. The new release of firmware for the NX1 makes two main changes. Movie Standby mode didn't function correctly after recording 1080p60 or 1080p30 video and using the Slow Movie (0.5x or 0.25x) setting. This has now been corrected, and so has an issue that resulted in the left and right images being transposed when recording with the unusual 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens. Samsung also says that it has fixed some minor bugs, but doesn't specify which, precisely.

You can get the new Samsung NX1 firmware version 1.32 download on the company's US website here.

Ricoh WG-30W firmware version 1.01

And finally, we come to Ricoh. The new Ricoh WG-30W firmware version 1.01 release makes but one change. According to the company, performance when viewing images via Wi-Fi from the Chrome browser for Android mobile devices has been improved. No other changes are noted in Ricoh WG-30W firmware version 1.01, which you can download here.
