In the world of digital photography, we work in color spaces, ‘a specific organization of colors’, as defined by Wikipedia. There are many color spaces, but more often than not when we’re working with a digital-only workflow we deal with two, sRGB and Adobe RGB.

If you’re wondering what exactly a color space is, how it affects your workflow and how best to manage color spaces, you’re not alone; there are a lot of people in that boat, myself included. Thankfully, photographer Forrest Tanaka spent a summer studying color spaces and subsequently made a 13-minute video detailing almost everything you need to know about various color spaces, color profiles and more.

This is a bit more in-depth than your average tutorial, so be sure to set some time aside to truly appreciate the explanation given by Tanaka in the video.
