LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Start off the New Year exploring Canon’s highly anticipated 2011 products at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In booth #13396, Canon U.S.A., a leader in digital imaging, will be showcasing recently announced VIXIA HD camcorders, PIXMA Office printers, PowerShot Digital cameras and a new professional series camcorder. Also on display will be Canon EOS DSLR cameras and lenses, imagePROGRAF large format printers and imageCLASS laser multifunction printers.

Canon VIXIA HD Camcorders
Canon introduces eight new VIXIA HD camcorders with a variety of new and exciting features. For the consumer looking for a camcorder providing superb HD video performance and quality, look no further than the Canon VIXIA HF M41 Flash Memory camcorder. This camcorder features Canon's new HD CMOS Pro Image Sensor, a professional-level 1/3-inch native 1920 x 1080 sensor1 which uses significantly larger, more sensitive pixels, resulting in high video resolution, outstanding low-light performance and expanded dynamic range. A 3.0-inch Touch Panel LCD screen has been included as well for a large display and easy menu navigation. In addition to the new VIXIA lineup, two new FS-series standard definition camcorders have also been introduced.

Canon XA10 Professional Camcorder
The ultra-compact Canon XA10 Professional camcorder is the ideal camcorder for situations where mobility is critical when shooting. The camcorder uses an AVCHD codec and features a 10x Genuine Canon HD Video Lens with an eight-blade iris, Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor and Canon 1/3 inch native 1920 x 1080 image sensor, delivering outstanding resolution and quality. The XA10 features a detachable handle which, when attached, further enhances the camcorder’s functionality by providing XLR inputs and an external microphone holder. Featuring a 64GB internal flash drive and two SDXC-compatible card slots, the XA10 offers the ability to record simultaneously to two cards for instant backup. The camcorder also features infrared video capture making it capable of shooting video in the dark.

Canon PIXMA Office Printers
Included at the booth will be the latest Canon PIXMA Office printers including the new PIXMA MX882 Wireless Photo All-In-One (AIO) model. The new Dual Function Panel on this printer makes navigating through menus and functions much easier, allowing users to switch between the fax function and either print, copy or scan functions quicker. The printer also has Advanced Media Handling capabilities with Auto Duplex copying, printing, incoming black and white fax documents and a two-way paper feed to reduce paper usage. With five-individual ink tanks utilizing the ChromaLife100+ ink system, a maximum color resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi2 and one picoliter in droplet size, the Canon PIXMA MX882 can produce a high-quality 4” x 6” photo in approximately 20 seconds3, a 50-percent reduction in time from its predecessor.

Canon PowerShot Digital Cameras
For many years, Canon’s PowerShot A-series cameras have been the choice for entry-level camera users just beginning their photographic journey. The four new additions announced at CES will help continue this trend with the addition of many new user-friendly and creative features. New to the A-Series lineup, the Canon PowerShot A3300 IS Digital camera, the ultimate camera for the entry-level user, features 720p HD video capabilities and 32 Smart AUTO Modes. With HD video capabilities, consumers can capture lasting memories in high-quality to be enjoyed for years to come. The camera also has new scene modes, Toy Camera Effect and Monochrome, in addition to the Super Vivid, Miniature Effect, Fish Eye Effect and Poster Effect scene modes found on previous models. This 16-Megapixel camera has a 5X-Wide Angle Optical Zoom with Image Stabilization and a 3.0-inch LCD screen further adding to its impressive feature set.

Also on display will be Canon’s latest EOS Digital SLR cameras along with a wide variety of EF and EF-S lenses. The latest addition to the EOS camera lineup is the EOS 60D, boasting 18-megapixel resolution, a three-inch Vari-Angle Clear View LCD screen, EOS Full HD video recording with manual overrides including audio level control, and in-camera functionality for RAW image processing plus Creative Filters to manipulate images after taking them. Designed primarily for advanced amateurs, the EOS 60D boasts a broad array of new features that make it easier for photographers to add personal creativity to their images. Whether it’s capturing an overhead shot on the Vari-Angle screen at a wedding ceremony, or converting a color image to black and white for a nostalgic look, Canon is delivering in-camera features and functions that empower advanced photographers to capture, display and print the images they want.

Canon imageCLASS Multifunction Printers
In small and home offices, having a laser MFP that can perform multiple tasks can help complete jobs in a quick and easy way. One such model is the Canon Color imageCLASS MF9220Cdn laser multifunction printer, developed to fit the needs of demand-heavy small office end users. With convenient print, scan, copy and fax functionality in a fully networkable device, this printer can easily be shared by as many as 5-10 users. With advanced imaging technologies such as Auto-Gradation Adjustment and Pure Black Technology, the Color imageCLASS MF9220Cdn delivers remarkable tone-on-tone clarity so images stay true to the original.
