Samsung Introduces Four Digimax Digicams

Samsung lineup increases to eight models ranging from 1.3-MP to 4.1-MP digicams...

Samsung introduced four new digicams at PMA 2002 today, doubling their lineup to eight models ranging from the 1.3-megapixel Digimax 130 to the new 4.1-megapixel Digimax 410.

"Consumers are expected to purchase 7.9-million digital cameras in 2002, compared to the 6-million purchased last year," said Ken Gerb, senior vice president of sales for Samsung Opto-Electronics America, Inc. "We are delighted to offer the consumer a large selection of digital cameras to fit every need and budget and we are focused on becoming a 'world class' manufacturer of digital as well as analog products," Gerb said.

Digimax 230. With a suggested retail price of $349.99, the Digimax 230 is a 2.1 mega- pixel digital camera with a 1/2.7" CCD. It has an auto focus, 3X optical zoom and 2X digital zoom lens, a 1.6", 60K pixel Casio TFT-LCD (LED type) monitor for preview and review with multi languages. The camera comes bundled with removable 8MB Compact Flash Card. There is also a NTSC, PAL selectable video clip feature with live view.

Digimax 350SE. With a suggested retail price of $549.99, the Digimax 350SE is a 3.3 megapixel camera with a 1/1.8� CCD. It has an auto focus 3X optical zoom and a 2X digital zoom lens, and a 1.5" TFT color LCD monitor. The camera comes bundled with 16MB CompactFlash Card. There is a Moving Picture Mode that allows you to record and playback video clips from 10 to 30 seconds.

MGI PhotoSuite SE software is included.
