Best steadicam shots of all time featured in captivating video

The fluid, chest-high steadicam shot has become so ubiquitous to movies and TV, it's difficult to imagine those art forms existing without them.
For instance, it's hard to think of Martin Scorsese's
Invented by cameraman Garrett Brown (right with Kubrick) in 1975, the steadicam is a stabilizing device for motion picture cameras that was designed to reduce camera shake. The result has been some amazingly smooth point-of-view footage that has changed how movies and television shows are shot and viewed.
Now film and photography content creator Larry Wright has edited together a captivating video of some of the best steadicam shots -- aka "steadishots" -- in a Vimeo clip titled "The Art of the Steadicam." Wright was inspired to create "this homage to the art of steadicam cinematography" while browsing a database of the most popular clips on steadishots.org.
