Fujifilm has officially announced the Fujinon 90mm F2 R LM WR, a long-awaited portrait lens first shown off earlier this year at CP+ as a prototype.

The 90mm lens (137mm full frame equivalent) features an optical design of 11 elements in 8 groups. Three of the elements feature Fujifilm’s extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to reduce aberrations and vignetting, contributing to beautiful bokeh along with a 7-blade rounded diaphragm aperture.

Inside the new lens is a newly-developed Quad Linear Motor for autofocus. Fujifilm says the new motor ‘uses four magnets for higher torque […] that provides a more versatile shooting experience.’ According to Fujifilm, the lens is capable of providing accurate autofocus as fast as 0.14 seconds.

In line with other lenses Fuji has recently released, the 90mm F2 R LM WR is weather-resistant, dust-resistant and can work in temperatures as low as 14°F (–10ºC).

You can pre-order the Fujifilm XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR at B&H for $949.00.
