In July, Adobe released Lightroom for Mobile version 2.4 for iOS. This update brought with it two particularly big new features for photographers with iPhones and iPads: The raw technology preview and local adjustment tools. As long as your raw files are supported on the desktop version of Lightroom, you can sync them with Lightroom for Mobile and edit them on the go.
At the time of release, Adobe published a video with travel photographer and educator Elia Locardi showcasing the app. You can see this video in the link above. Now Locardi has released a much longer video showing his start to finish raw workflow using Lightroom Mobile.
In the video below, Locardi not only covers his use of the app and how it’s changing the way he can work, but he goes through his shooting process as well. So even if you’re not a Lightroom Mobile user, there’s still something for you here. Check it out below.
It’s incredible how much photography and technology in general have advanced in the last few years, particularly in the mobile space. As phones themselves become capable of taking better pictures, they also become more powerful tools for photographers to use to complement and speed up their workflow with dedicated cameras.
If you’d like to learn more about Lightroom Mobile, see here. To use the app – which is itself free – you need to have an active Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. A special Photography Plan is available for just under $10 per month and includes both Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC.
