Relatively small and lightweight. Good sharpness. Inexpensive.
    Slow

I bought this lens intending to use it for travel to avoid the extra weight of the f4 version (which I also own).
Because this lens is so slow at the long end of the zoom range, you mostly have to use it wide open. But I'm happy to report that it's plenty sharp even wide open, and surprisingly there is little to no purple fringing in high contrast situations. It's obviously not a good lens for shooting in dark indoor venues unless you're willing to boost the ISO to 6400 (which an R6 can easily handle), but in good light it's a gem. Overall, I'm very happy I bought this lens.

    Superb image quality
    Big and heavy

This lens provides excellent image quality at all focal lengths, even wide open. I saw it to photograph concerts, often in rather dim lighting. But pushing the R6 or R5 to ISO 6400 (if needed) is not a problem. But this lens is not a great all-purpose travel lens unless you don't mind lugging around all this weight. It covers a very useful focal range and can be cropped in to extend that range.
