PRESS RELEASE: Ubicom Solution Selected for D-Link Wi-Fi Internet Picture Frame
D-Link Builds on Flexible Reference Design to Create a CES Innovation Award-Winning Photo Sharing Experience
LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- Jan. 7, 2008 Ubicom(R), Inc., a leading provider of communications processor and software solutions, has been selected by D-Link as the processor and software supplier for D-Link's Wi-Fi Internet Picture Frame (DSM-210).
D-Link is demonstrating the DSM-210 photo sharing experience at CES 2008. Users can drag and drop photos on their computer desktop; and have them instantly appear on a frame in their home or half way around the world. This simple interaction makes the DSM-210 an ideal gift for any family member.
Weather, stock quotes, shared photos and other personalized content are delivered directly from a free D-Link online account making it easy to customize what you see on the frame.
The DSM-210 supports Wi-Fi Protected Set-up (WPS). When used with any of the latest D-Link routers, it can be securely connected to the home network and associated to the online account with a few simple steps.
The DSM-210 is based on the Ubicom IP5170 multithreaded processor. Pan and zoom, image scaling and sophisticated transition effects are all supported by the built in DSP instructions. Flexible interfaces support all of the popular memory card types and formats.
"Ubicom is very sensitive to our needs and always provides us with solutions that allow us to innovate for our customers," said AJ Wang, CTO of D-Link. "Our new picture frame with built-in Wi-Fi and Internet capability sets a new standard for ease of use and access to personalized content in this market."
