Poway, CA. September 15th, 2008 - Delkin Devices, Inc. has just released several new Pop-Up Shades, expanding its line of protective camera accessories.  The latest shades are for the Nikon D3, Nikon D300 and more recently, the Nikon D60 and Canon Rebel XSi.   Also introduced was a 2.8" Universal model that fits compact cameras with either 2.7" or 2.8" LCDs.  Pop-Up Shade LCD covers are available in several models which easily attach to digital cameras.  The two part design closes to provide rugged protection for LCD screens, and lifts up to shade the LCD for improved visibility when the camera is used in bright light.

"While the glare guard is useful for shooting outdoors, the LCD protection is the key to this product", said Kathleen Finlayson, Delkin's New Product Specialist.  "The LCD is the most expensive and vulnerable part of the camera.  Replacing a damaged LCD could cost as much as a new camera."

Even in the "Pop-Up" position, an optically clear plastic shield covers the LCD screen, providing the protection users need while ensuring a crystal clear view of the images.

Professional Pop-Up Shades are designed for specific DSLR camera models and attach by snapping over the existing eye-piece.  These models offer the fullest coverage by protecting not only the LCD but also the buttons around the screen.  For use indoors, the shade portion can be removed, leaving the plastic LCD cover in place.  Universal Pop-Up Shades are designed for specific LCD sizes.  Delkin offers shades for screens from 1.6" up to 3.0".  The shades attach using a durable adhesive that does not leave a residue when the shade is removed.  Universal models also feature the removable shade, and fit hundreds of the most popular compact cameras.

"Whether you are a professional photographer or a point-and-shoot user, your camera is an investment", said Martin Wood, Delkin's CEO.  "A Pop-Up Shade is a quick and easy way to protect that investment."  Rugged and durable, Delkin's Pop-Up Shades have become a must-have accessory for any digital camera owner.

Go to http://www.delkin.com/products/popupshades/index.html for more information or to purchase a Pop-Up Shade.  Pop-Up Shades can also be found at photographic equipment resellers nationwide.  MSRP for Professional shades is $39.99.  MSRP for Standard and Universal models is $29.99 and $19.99, respectively.
