PRESS RELEASE: SiPix Introduces Advanced 2.1 Mega Pixel Digital Camera for Consumer Market

With an advanced design and feature set, the easy-to-use StyleCam Extreme boasts a MovieMode, 4X digital zoom and 16MB of built-in flash memory at a consumer-friendly price

PMA, Las Vegas, March 2, 2003 - SiPix today announced its new 2.1 Mega Pixel StyleCam Extreme digital camera. The sleek StyleCam Extreme offers high-end features with an intuitive "point and shoot" design. SiPix will demonstrate the StyleCam Extreme at the Photo Marketing Association conference, March 2-5, in Las Vegas, booth number A113. Aimed at budding and enthusiast digital photographers, the camera will be available in April at a price of $129.99.

The StyleCam Extreme is an ideal take-along camera that allows users to capture sharp and colorful pictures and digital video at events, parties, traveling or sightseeing. With features normally found in higher-end digital cameras, the StyleCam Extreme delivers 3 Mega Pixel enhanced resolution, 4X ultra smooth digital zoom, macro mode for extreme close-ups, and a 1.6" TFT color LCD monitor.

The camera includes 16MB of onboard memory as well as the ability to increase storage capacity for pictures and video using removable Secured Digital (SD) and Multi Media Card (MMC) memory cards. The StyleCam Extreme functions as a mass storage device, allowing the computer to instantly recognize the camera as a drive via USB connection for simple drag and drop operation.

"In order to continue to bring digital photography to the masses, digital cameras must offer more than just a low price," said Marie Wesson, director of marketing for SiPix. "The StyleCam Extreme combines basic and advanced features in an easy-to-use, affordable and value-driven package. We provide users with all of the benefits they seek in a digital camera today, as well as capabilities that can be utilized as their skills increase. The StyleCam Extreme even features 3 Mega Pixel enhanced resolution enabling users to enlarge an area of the image or print the whole image into a larger photo."

Other features include a 10-second self-timer, auto power off to conserve battery power, an integrated lens cover that automatically turns the camera on and off while protecting the lens from dust and scratches, and a video output feature that allows users to present their pictures and videos on a TV screen.

The StyleCam Extreme comes bundled with easy-to-use photo and video software from ArcSoft giving users an experience that previously required thousands of dollars in digital darkroom equipment and software. PhotoImpression is ideal for editing, retouching and adding special effects to photos. VideoImpression creates video clips from still photos and edits AVI video so users can share creations with friends and family.
