PRESS RELEASE: SiPix Introduces 'Picture ALIVE' Technology, Delivering Sharper, Brighter Images for Consumer Digital Cameras
PMA, Las Vegas, March 2, 2003 - SiPix today announced the availability of Picture ALIVE, a digital image processing technology for its digital camera line that uses cutting-edge technology to dramatically enhance images delivering superior image quality. Picture ALIVE produces sharper, more vibrant and brighter images that can be enlarged without loss of precious details.
SiPix will offer a sneak peak of the Picture ALIVE technology at the Photo Marketing Association conference, March 2-5, in Las Vegas, booth number A113. Elements of Picture ALIVE technology will be incorporated into some of the latest cameras recently launched from SiPix, including the StyleCam Blink II and StyleCam Groove.
Picture ALIVE uses sophisticated color processing algorithms to add saturation to true color images when the photo is taken. The new technology delivers richer colors without making the photograph appear unrealistic. The technology also automatically adjusts brightness across different parts of an image, resulting in more natural looking photographs, even in difficult lighting conditions.
"SiPix has developed Picture ALIVE to offer a higher value camera for the same low price," said Marie Wesson, director of marketing for SiPix. "Users will see the advantage when they transfer pictures to their PC because Picture ALIVE is automatically applied to each image. It's like having a miniature image scientist built into every camera."
Picture ALIVE also resolves the problem of fuzziness that often occurs with digital zoom. The technology employs algorithms that allow images captured with a 1.3 Mega Pixel camera to be comparable in size and quality to those taken with more advanced 2.1 Mega Pixel cameras. Additional patent pending algorithms accurately sharpen images by blending and balancing the nuances of each object, providing natural, sharp and detailed final pictures for print or digital output.
Picture ALIVE is a dynamic processing technology. As features are developed and improved they will be integrated into the software drivers and available as a free download to SiPix customers.
