PRESS RELEASE: Unibind System Makes 400 Perfect Photo-Wrap Hardcovers an Hour
Automated Casemaker Machine Simplifies Implant Memory Book Production
PMA2010, Anaheim, California, February 18, 2010 – We have all heard the old adage: You can’t tell a book by its cover. But if the cover of a precious memory book is not made to the highest standards, the customer may never be satisfied. The automatic Casemaker 750A from Unibind not only let’s you personalize hardcovers with wraparound photos, it does it perfectly every time.
Designed by the world’s leading maker of photobook binding systems to meet the needs of large-scale production companies, the Casemaker 750A will work with any type of image used on covers – whether traditional photographic, inkjet or electro photographic. It will work for covers being bound to books as small as 8”x8” (200mm x 200mm) up to 12”x14” (305mm x 356mm), in either portrait or landscape orientation, at speeds up to 400 covers/hour. Spine sizes up to 0.94 inch (24mm) can be accommodated.
No special skills are needed to operate the machine. It is a completely “dry” design: no need to handle liquid chemicals or glues. Once the base material trays are filled and the format entered through the touch-screen, the machine runs completely automatically. The CasePlano cover material is mated with the personalized cover print and sealed. A mirror sheet with a thin layer of hot melt is added to the inner side and sealed. The cover is assembled using heat and a U-spine is created – ready to bind to the book block.
Although designed to match the performance of the companion semi-automatic bookmaker CBCC12 (Crimps, Binds, Case-in, Cools) system, the Casemaker 750A will work with other casing-in systems.
