Nikon Inc. has today announced price reductions for two of its Coolpix-series digital cameras, the ultra-compact Coolpix 775 and swivel-bodied Coolpix 995. Effective immediately, the Coolpix 775 will have a new MSRP of $399.95 (previously $449.95), a price reduction of 11%.
The Coolpix 995, meanwhile, stays at the same MSRP of $899.95, but now has a $100 rebate offered through December 31st 2001. This is also an 11% cut on the effective price of the camera, although if you have to pay sales tax you unfortunately pay tax on the pre-rebate price...
Nikon is the second company to announce price-cuts on digicams today... With the holiday season drawing nearer, rival Fuji announced price cuts of $200 (20 - 29%) on three digicam models...
