SUNNYVALE, CA, Oct. 2, 2001 - SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK) announced today that Nikon has selected SanDisk's CompactFlash(tm) cards for its newest high-resolution, lightweight digital camera, the Coolpix® 5000. A 32-megabyte (MB) SanDisk CompactFlash card will be included with each camera sold.

The Nikon Coolpix 5000 features a 3x Optical Zoom-Nikkor lens, a 5-megapixel CCD, a 1.8-inch color LCD monitor that titles and swings for easier subject framing, a USB cable for one-touch image transfers to the web and a Movie Mode function that captures 40 seconds of QuickTime video and audio.
The Coolpix 5000 is a lightweight digital camera with a high-strength magnesium-alloy body, and is expected to be available in November at a suggested retail price of $1,099.95.
