Both cameras get new viewer utilities; DiMAGE 7 also gets new firmware update...
Minolta USA has released updates for users of both its DiMAGE 5 and 7 digital cameras. For users of both cameras, there is now a new version 1.1.1 of the DiMAGE Image Viewer Utility, with improved RAW file processing and other "improvements in overall functionality". DiMAGE 7 users can also update their cameras with firmware version A1v121u, which provides "general improvement in exposure performance (particularly for flash photography)".
To confirm the firmware version of your DiMAGE 7 digital camera, set the main switch/mode dial of the camera to the setup position, then press the digital-subject-program button and check the number displayed in the LCD monitor display of the camera. If you don't already have version A1v121u, you'll want to upgrade following Minolta's instructions. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully; firmware upgrades are a fairly simple and safe process but if you don't follow the instructions there's the potential to turn your camera into an expensive paperweight...
Both the firmware update and the viewer utility can be found here.
