Cheaper prices and better bundles should help the company attract new users to digital photography...

Toshiba Imaging Systems has announced in a press release that it has updated pricing, rebates and bundles for several of its digital camera models, IR reader Charles Chen points out. The company's PDR-M21, PDR-M71 and PDR-M81 cameras will all now be bundled with a free 'Photo Kit' consisting of a 32MB SmartMedia card and case, camera bag and 4 Energizer e2 Lithium photo batteries... The PDR-M71 gets a $100 price reduction from $499 to $399, a 20% reduction. The PDR-M81, meanwhile, will come with a $100 mail-in rebate on its $699 price - mail-in rebates don't refund the buyer for sales taxes if applicable, but this is a 14% reduction before sales tax.

Toshiba also notes in its press release that it will be showing its digital camera lineup at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 8th - 11th.
