Jeff tries out Olympus' 4 megapixel, 2.8x optical zoom digicam...
Jeff Keller, our good friend at the Digital Camera Resource Page website, emailed yesterday to let us know he's just completed his review of the Olympus D-40 Zoom digital camera. An interesting super-compact 4 megapixel camera with a 2.8x optical zoom lens, Jeff concludes: "I was concerned when Olympus took a long time to send out the D-40 Zoom for review. My conspiracy-seeking side thought there must be a reason why they didn't want me to see it. Well, as it turns out, it was supply and demand, and the camera was definitely not disappointing in any way. In fact, it's right up at the top of my list for ultra-small cameras. Great photo quality, full manual controls, a movie mode, and a small body make it a winner in my book." For a lot more info along with an array of sample images, read the DCRP D-40Z review, and then get a second opinion in our own review posted last October. You'll also find a review of the European variant, the C-40 Zoom, at the Digital Photography Review website, and yet another D-40 review from the good folks at Steve's Digicams.
