We check out Canon's 2 megapixel sibling of the PowerShot A30...
Canon's done a great job lately of building quality cameras for entry-level users wanting more than just a bare-bones model. The latest evidence of this is their A40 model, a two-megapixel design with a 3x zoom lens in a stylish case.
Beyond its good looks though, it really takes excellent pictures under a variety of conditions. Its color is clean, correct, and pleasing, and its lens nice and sharp. It also does a pretty good job of offering enough picture controls to help you get the best photos, without being overly complicated. Overall, a great camera if you don't need the extra resolution of a 3 megapixel model, but don't want to compromise at all on color and image quality. A very nice little camera. Check it out!
