Just-released camera with its full-frame sensor available now - no waiting...
Contax's N Digital SLR digital camera provoked much excitement when it was announced, thanks to the use of a full 35mm frame-sized sensor. Just recently, the camera began shipping in the USA, although supply is very short and retailers haven't been able to keep up with demand - back orders have been the norm.
Imaging Resource affiliate Ritz Camera has made its buying power known once again though; they actually have a small handful of cameras in stock now. If you've been looking to purchase the N Digital, act quickly - they won't be there long, so this is your chance to skip the queue! (Note from Dave: I don't know how Ritz managed this, the PR people don't even have a unit available to lend me for review! So, to head off the questions before they arrive, no, I don't know when I'll be reviewing one of these. - If you buy one, maybe you could send me a few pictures from it. ;-)
The N Digital features a 6 megapixel imager, and is compatible with is compatible with all seven lenses in the company's N system, as well as Contax 645 lenses with the use of an adapter. Ritz is selling the camera for $6999, and as usual it's hard to beat their deal - shipping and handling are free, there's no sales tax (a big difference on a $6999 order!), the camera has a full USA warranty and Ritz has low-price and satisfaction guarantees.
