Dave takes a second look at battery performance, and Maha comes out on top again...
After *months* of too-busy-to-get-to-it, I've finally dug through a pile of battery testing data and updated our NiMH Battery Shootout! I've run more test cycles on many of the previously-tested batteries, and added test data for no less than 9 new cell types. The results? The Maha Powerex 1800s still come out on top (out of a total field of 18 cell types tested), although the Sony 1750s gave them a real run for the money.
Energizer and Kodak 1700s did very well too, but were a notch down from both the Powerex and Sony units. The biggest surprise was that the Nexcell 1800s I had did terribly, with several cells actually failing. (I've contacted Nexcell for samples of their latest production, in case this was the result of early production problems.) Read the shootout page for all the geeky details!
