Casio is planning a new digital camera which is likely based on the same 1/1.8" 5 megapixel sensor used in cameras just announced by Olympus and Kyocera.
The Casio QV-5700, reported on by our friends at the Digital Photography Review, is already listed on the websites of at least two German retailers. Listed as Product Number "QV-5700-MIC", the camera will pair its 5 megapixel imager with USB connectivity, CompactFlash Type-I and Type-II compatibility, and (at least in the German market) a bundled 1GB IBM Microdrive.
One retailer is listing the camera for €1045.80, and the other for €969, so we'd guess the list price will be somewhere in the region of €1050 (US$1030 / £670 / ¥122,000 approx., ignoring exchange rate fluctuations, taxes and duties).
Stay tuned for further details on this camera as soon as we can tell you more!
