Fuji has made a business of building very functional cameras with good color and image quality and selling them at very low prices.

One recent example of this is their FinePix A303 model, a nice three-megapixel, 3x zoom design that uses the new xD-Picture Cards. (But why, oh why, did Fuji and Olympus have to dream up yet *another* memory card format?) The A303 is aimed squarely at the entry-level "novice" market, with largely automatic operation and very simple controls. It nonetheless manages to snap good-looking pictures with excellent color.

It's main limitations are that it does a poorer than average job under incandescent lighting, unless you use the flash, and it has very limited low-light capability. If you can accept needing to to use the flash at night though, the A303 has a lot to offer, at an attractive price. Check it out!
