PRESS RELEASE: Workshop cruise to Alaska will teach travel and outdoor digital photography skills
Attendees' best images will be published in a fine arts book
The Third Digital Photography Workshop at Sea will spend June 22-29, 2003, cruising the Inside Passage to Alaska from Vancouver, B.C., with visits to Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, and the Hubbard Glacier.
Attendees will learn travel and outdoors digital photography techniques and have their work showcased in a published book documenting the cruise and its historic ports of call that were the early stepping stones to the Last Frontier.
Seminars, demonstrations, and photo critiquing sessions will be held in an relaxed setting aboard Celebrity Cruise Lines' Mercury, a high-tech ship of the Royal Caribbean (RCCL) fleet. Attendees will also have unlimited access to Epson printers on which they can output their work.
Attendance is limited to 30 enrollees so each may receive individual attention and have two to three of their best images appear in the book, one to a page, along with captions and photo credits.
The cruise has been planned to take advantage of some of the longest days of the year, where mellow light extends late into the evening hours, ideal for travel, nature, and wildlife photography.
Lead instructor for the workshop is Arthur H. Bleich, award-winning photographer, digital photography expert, educator, and feature editor of Digital Camera Magazine. He has shot photo assignments throughout Alaska.
Cost of the workshop cruise begins at $2,230 with non-attendee companions paying half-price. Further information is available at: http://www.dpcorner.com/cruise.
