New MovieWorks Improves Authoring Speed, Ease & Reliability Mac Classic, X and Windows Versions on Single CD
PLEASANTON, Calif., February 21, 2003 - Interactive Solutions, Inc. today announced MovieWorks Deluxe 6.0 is now available. In addition to general reliability improvements in all versions, especially for Mac OS 10.2, version 6.0 now supports importing MPEG-2 (DVD quality video) and MPEG-4 (internet streaming) files, and exporting to the new MPEG-4 format. Furthermore, there have been enhancements to media sequencing, previewing, playback navigation and text editing. The Player applications have also been optimized and now open final productions in a matter of seconds on most computers. Complementing the reliability and feature improvements, the MovieWorks 6.0 CD has an additional 50 megabytes of new graphic and photo clip media objects, and an interactive "front-end", created in MovieWorks, allowing for easier installation and navigation of CD contents.
"I really put the new release of MovieWorks to task building our new interactive Product Tour CD. In my 15 years developing multimedia, I've used just about every multimedia software tool available and found MovieWorks is not only fast and powerful, but contains the right mix of features at a terrific price. With the new release, editing time is reduced and the overall authoring experience improved. It's also great to have all three platform installers on the same CD. Without a doubt, MovieWorks Deluxe 6.0 is a "must have" update," says Jeff Kelley, Vice President of Marketing, Interactive Solutions, Inc.
MovieWorks Deluxe combines simple-to-use video, sound, animation, paint and image editing tools with a powerful time-based, object-oriented sequencing and authoring program. The five integrated applications work together seamlessly, making it easy to incorporate analog (AV) or digital (DV) video, buttons, photos, graphics, animations, 3D, narration, MIDI, MP3, CD music, text and titling, and even Virtual Reality (VR) movies into professional-quality multimedia productions. Any object may be put on a "path" and animated or scaled over time. Users create an unlimited number of scenes, like chapters in a book, and then link them together either sequentially or through menu-driven button links. Scenes may include any combination and number of media objects, and are used to organize projects into logical segments. Interactive productions are saved to a single .plr file and may be opened and played by the free MovieWorks Player applications for Mac and Windows. Linear productions may be exported as a .mov, .avi or .dv file or direct to a DV camcorder. DV (.dv) files may also be imported into DV editing software, such as iMovie, or into any DVD authoring program. Using 3rd party software, QuickTime and AVI files may be burned to CD-R media in the VCD format and played in DVD players.
MovieWorks Deluxe 6.0 MSRP is $119.95, and installers for Mac Classic, OS X and Windows are now included on a single CD. The new version is available as a free update to registered users of version 5.x or higher.
