Olympus has carved out a bit of a niche for themselves with very long-zoom cameras.
Last year's 720 and 730 were very popular, but this year, Olympus ups the ante with higher resolution and a range of new features. I've just completed "first looks" at their new 740 and 750 models. The 740 is very similar to last year's 3-megapixel, the main exception being a lack of sound recording capability. The new 750 has sound recording, and bumps the image resolution up to 4 megapixels.
Because these are just first looks, based on early prototypes, there aren't any sample pictures yet, nor could I conduct any of my usual quantitative tests on the cameras. There's still plenty of interesting reading to whet your appetite, though.
If you're interested in telephoto digital photography, these new models deserve watching. Click here to read the C-740 UltraZoom review or the C-750 UltraZoom review.
