We mentioned yesterday that Nikon Europe had released a new version of firmware for the Coolpix 3100 digital camera on that continent, and eagle-eyed Jerry Kaczynski spotted that since we wrote the item, Nikon USA has now released the firmware as well.
Jerry notes that the firmware released in Europe is apparently identical to that released in the USA today. We've not checked that ourselves, but wouldn't be surprised - sometimes cameras can accept identical firmware regardless of which market they're sold in.
Still, it is best to be safe and wait until the firmware is released in your own market, because there's always the potential that a hardware or firmware differences from region to region could cause your camera to fail if you install firmware from another region into your camera...
The firmware can be downloaded here for Windows users, and here for Macintosh users.
Thanks to
Jerry Kaczynski
for this item!
