Carphone Warehouse, a British phone retailer, has partnered with Kodak to provide instant photo prints in their stores, according to a story posted today by europemedia.net. The company hopes to spur sales of camera-phones with the new service.
By September, customers in Britain, France and Spain will be able to upload photos from their phones via infra-red or Bluetooth and get a print for 1.42 euros.
According to the story two-thirds of Carphone Warehouse's contracts include camera phones. Kodak expects the typical camera phone user to take 2.5 times as many images as a digicam user. And Kodak predicts camera phones will outsell digicams by 2006.
