Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. Inc. has today announced a very slight update to its FinePix 3800 digital camera, in the form of the new FinePix S3000.
The new model - which we predicted was on the way late last month - is near-identical to its predecessor, with exactly the same 6x optical zoom lens and 3.2 megapixel CCD image sensor, as well as almost the same body. The only changes are that the microphone has been removed (so there's no audio clip mode, or sound on videos), NTSC / PAL video output connectivity has been added, battery life has been improved somewhat (from roughly 250 to 350 shots, with 50% LCD and flash usage), and the camera's menu system now supports five languages (Chinese, English, French, German, and Spanish). The Fujifilm FinePix S3000 will ship in October 2003 at a suggested list price of $399.99, much the same price that the FinePix 3800 currently sells for.
