Eight days of workshops for beginning and intermediate photographers -- and some $25,000 in gifts from Epson, Olympus, Adobe and others that participants will receive prior to departure. Interrupted only by stops at St. Maarten, Barbados and Martinique.
Arthur H. Bleich will lead an eight-day Digital Photography & Imaging Cruise featuring workshops for beginning and intermediate photographers that will embark from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on Jan. 24, 2004, aboard one of Carnival's newest superliners, the Legend. The cruise is the fourth of a highly successful series offering instruction in photodigital technologies in a relaxed learning environment. Scheduled ports of call include St. Maarten, Barbados and Martinique, each with a different cultural heritage.
Participating sponsors -- including Epson, Olympus, Adobe and others -- have contributed over $25,000 in gifts that participants will receive prior to departure.
The instruction schedule features digital photography lectures, Photoshop demonstrations, and critiquing of work shot both onboard and ashore. Printers will be available 24/7 in the workshop's private conference room.
Enrollment is limited to allow for personalized instruction. While at sea, attendees can upload pictures to their own or Epson's photo-sharing website or send them via email to friends and family anywhere in the world through the ship's state-of-the-art satellite facilities.
Bleich, the lead instructor for the workshop, is an award-winning photographer, digital photography expert, educator, and feature editor of Digital Camera Magazine. Photoshop techniques will be taught by Dan Loffler, an internationally known authority. Computer and printing technical assistance will also be provided. Cost of the workshop cruise starts at $1,995 with non-attendee companions paying less than half.
