Shapiro Consulting Group Inc., the company behind the Asiva brandname, has announced that it is preparing a third plugin from Adobe Photoshop to complement its existing "Correct+Apply Color" and "Sharpen+Soften" plugins.

The Asiva Shift+Gain Component plug-in will allow the user to make selections using curves, then allows adjustments to the Hue, Saturation, Value and Red / Green / Blue components of the image in a single 16-bit application of the filter.

Further details can be found on the Asiva Shift+Gain page of the Asiva website. The plugin is expected to be released in October, and is currently in final testing.

Original Source Press Release:

Third Asiva® Plug-In for Adobe® Photoshop® to be Released

Shapiro Consulting Group, Inc., (SCGI), Austin, Texas, has completed development of a third plug-in for Adobe Photoshop. The plug-in, called Asiva Shift+Gain Component, is currently under final testing and its release is expected in October. The new plug-in will be previewed at the upcoming Photoshopworld tradeshow in Miami.

The Asiva Shift+Gain Component plug-in is based on SCGI's patented image enhancement technology, allowing for users to perform color changes without time-consuming masks. It features all 16-bit per component internal processing, even on 8-bit images. This provides 256 times the bandwidth and precision of 8-bit processing. Using Asiva's proprietary curves technology, users are able to make near perfect selections based on the Hue, Saturation and Luminance components of the image and then very accurately adjust the Hue, Saturation, Value and RGB/CMYK components of that selection. Asiva's curves also allow for filter roll-offs so all effects appear completely natural and a built in Color Sampler Tool provides a good starting-point for setting the three curves. All filter settings may be saved and loaded.

Asiva Shift+Gain Component runs under Mac® OS 9.x, Mac® OS X®, Windows® 2000, and Windows® XP®. It has been tested with Photoshop® 5.5 through 7.0. Within Photoshop®, the plug-in supports 8 or 16-bit, RGB or CMYK files.

Asiva's patented technology has been used extensively in broadcast video editing work in the past six years and is embodied in the company's 16-bit per component Asiva® Photo color correction and image enhancement application. Asiva® Photo has been very popular with high-end digital photographers, graphics artists and visual information specialists in the government, military and medical sectors.
