PRESS RELEASE: Digi Album Release Improves Usability, Styling
WELLINGTON, NZ -- 18 June 2004 -- Xequte announced the release of Diji Album v5.0 today, a major upgrade to their digital photo album creation software.
Diji Album allows users to build realistically styled albums from their image and multimedia files and distribute them via e-mail, CD-ROM or the Internet.
Version 5 development has focused on improving the styling of created albums, adding fun new objects and enhancing album distribution, particularly with web based albums.
A new image display object expands the creative possibilities for presentation of pictures. New options include soft shadows, multi-color frames and captions. Images can even be displayed at custom angles or as monochrome prints.
The new release also adds a new shape object allows users to quickly decorate albums pages with over thirty custom designs, including stars, lightning bolts, explosions, speech bubbles and arrows.
The rich text object has been enhanced with improved transparency, full text justification and clickable web and e-mail links.
A new "click effect" option allows users to specify any of forty different actions to occur when an object is clicked. Typical click effects include controlling multimedia, displaying or printing files, starting slideshows, etc.
Generation of web-based albums has been completely revamped with more control over page styling, support for background music and an enhanced slideshow function that can display album pages, album images or both.
Many improvements have been made to the album shelf, a tool that provides quick access to favorite albums. Diji Album now supports an unlimited number of shelves, and has better support for albums located on removable media.
An enhanced camera acquisition wizard now adds quick retrieval of files from all connected Twain and USB devices, including new support for acquisition of digital video. Diji Album now also offers to automatically create an image album when connecting a camera under XP.
The "Insert Page Wizard" has been significantly improved, incorporating quick selection of ten common page styles with a preview. Image pages can now be automatically created with pictures displayed with random rotation.
Other changes include enhanced styling throughout the application, better animated GIF support, digital camera field support and importing of file lists from other popular software products.
Diji Album v5.0 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP, and costs $33.50(US) for a single-user license.
