SanDisk miniSD and RS-MMC Cards Increase To 512-Megabyte Capacities; New Capacities Needed for Digital Music, Photos And Other Storage-Intensive Features On The Latest Mobile Devices

San Francisco, CA, Oct. 26, 2004 – SanDisk® Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) announced today that it is doubling the current maximum capacities of its popular SanDisk miniSD™ and SanDisk RS-MMC™ cards to 512 megabytes (MB). These storage cards are used in a growing number of mobile phones with multimedia capabilities such as digital cameras, music players and video recording and playback. The announcement was made at the CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2004 trade show at Moscone Center where SanDisk is demonstrating products in Booth 924.

“The number of mobile phones with storage card slots is growing rapidly since removable memory provides many advantages in mobile phones that feature digital cameras, digital audio players, games and other applications,” said Nelson Chan, executive vice president and general manager of SanDisk’s consumer and handset business. “We expect to continue to increase capacities for these cards as these storage-intensive mobile phone applications grow in popularity.”

The SanDisk miniSD card includes an adapter allowing it to be used in any of the existing SD card devices and the SanDisk RS-MMC card includes a mechanical extender so that it can be used in any full-sized MultiMediaCard™ slot as well as SD™ host devices that support the MultiMediaCard.

The SanDisk miniSD and SanDisk RS-MMC cards are available at the suggested retail prices and availability as follows:

This is the latest in a series of new capacity points offered by SanDisk. Also recently announced are SanDisk Memory Stick PRO™, SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo™ and SD cards in 4-gigabytes (GB), 1GB and 2GB respectively.

Offered for sale to OEM customers and through retail markets, these new cards will be sold at most of the 80,000 consumer electronics stores and other retail outlets where SanDisk products are sold worldwide.
