PRESS RELEASE: ExpoDisc Color Filters To Be Introduced in Canada
Red Raven Marketing To Handle Distribution
Uxbridge, Ontario (November 11, 2004) - ExpoDisc Inc., the pioneer in diffusion filters that allow photographers to fine-tune color balance at capture, today announced that the ExpoDisc product line will now be available at retail outlets throughout Canada. Distribution will be handled by Ontario-based Red Raven Marketing.
ExpoDisc, headquartered in Morgan Hill, CA, develops diffusion filters that provide fast, accurate color at capture. The initial products that will be sold in Canada include the white balance and digital warm balance filters. The filters are designed for professional photographers, videographers, and serious amateurs.
With ExpoDisc filters, photographers no longer have to shoot through extra glass, carry inconsistent and cumbersome cards, or spend hours on the computer in post-production color correction.
The warm balance filter is a calibrated, colored diffusion filter with a bias that forces the digital camera to add precise quantities of red and green color to a neutral balance. The filter is excellent for warming (or balancing) skin tones in indoor or outdoor portraits and scenery. It decreases color temperature; adds healthy skin tone to images shot in open shade or overcast conditions; slightly reduces the bluish cast on overcast days or at high noon; reduces excess blue from flash indoors or in daylight flash-fill; as well as warms sea, sky and high altitude shots.
The white balance filter lets users read and set white balance before shooting to produce portraits and landscapes for perfect white balance and more pleasing colors. The ExpoDisc white balance method turns what has been a difficult color management problem into a simple routine. The white balance filter provides an equivalent 81A warmed image at capture.
Each ExpoDisc comes with a card recording its exact density and primary color characteristics. The ExpoDisc filters work with digital cameras and digital video, and are available in six standard sizes from 58mm to 82mm. Prices range from $124.95 to $199.95 (Canada). Custom sizes are available on special request.
"The ExpoDisc filters are an easy way to get great color on the first shot for digital cameras and digital video," stated David Moseley, President of Red Raven Marketing. "Professional photographers and serious amateurs will love it because it's quick and easy, and they don't have to go back to the studio for color adjustments. We are delighted to be their marketing partner in Canada. The product has already achieved strong acceptance in the States and is ideally suited to our customer base."
About ExpoDisc ExpoDisc Inc., originally founded in 1980, is the pioneer in white balance filters. Its founder, George Wallace, originally designed the ExpoDisc to be a more convenient and accurate gray card and printing tool for 35mm film cameras. His daughter Diane Wallace later found that you could also use it to get easy digital white balance.
