Olympus' Stylus Verve digital camera. Courtesy of Olympus, with modifications by Michael R. Tomkins. Olympus Stylus Verve review updated to full production status

When we first saw a prototype of the Olympus Stylus Verve digicam back in early September, we were quite impressed with its style and operation, as we shared in our "First Look" review of it.

At the time, we liked its image quality as well, but refrained from commenting on this, given our sample unit's prototype status. We've now had a chance to look at a production model of this camera, and are happy to report that our initial enthusiasm for it has in no way diminished.

This is a model for the true "point and shoot" user, so don't expect loads of exposure control or creative adjustments. As a pure point & shoot model though, it succeeds quite well, snapping very nice-looking photos under a variety of common shooting conditions.

As we noted earlier, the sleek case design fits the hand surprisingly well, and the build quality is excellent. All in all, the best Stylus model from Olympus to date, and a sure hit for the coming holiday season. (A "Dave's Pick", too.) Check it out!
