Olympus Japan has today released a new firmware version (v1.4) for its E-1 digital SLR.
The company's release notes list a number of changes: - The S-AF speed in low luminance conditions has been improved.
- AF accuracy under fluorescent lighting has been improved.
- Images shot with the E-300 (TIFF, RAW, SHQ) can be displayed normally.
- New high speed CompactFlash cards are supported.
E-1 owners can download the software from Olympus Japan's website, and should refer to the instructions on how to install the firmware update to their camera, and should ensure that their Olympus Studio or Olympus Viewer software has been updated to at least version 1.1 before attempting the upgrade.
