Wrapping up Concord Camera Corp.'s PMA announcements are two new digicam models aimed at impulse buying by first-time digicam users.

The Concord 4042 is a $99 four megapixel CCD-based camera with a 36mm-equivalent fixed-focal length lens. It offers both an optical viewfinder and 1.5" LCD display, and stores images on either SD cards or 16MB of built-in memory. Power is supplied by two AAA batteries. The lower-cost 3047 model, which will cost $79.99, offers a three megapixel CMOS imager and 44mm-equivalent fixed focal length lens. This model is largely similar to the 3043 model announced at Photokina, but features a larger 1.8" LCD display, and is offered in a wider range of body colors.

The Concord 4042 will ship in March. Product photos and availability information for the 3047 had not been provided at the time this article was written.

4 Megapixel Concord 4042 with Easy Power-Up
Priced at $99, the compact Concord 4042 4 Megapixel digital camera features a unique “quick click” sliding power-up button strategically located on the front of the camera that enables users to quickly turn the camera on, so that they never miss a great photo opportunity. The Concord 4042 combines a 4x digital zoom and a 1.5” color LCD with pre-set exposure and shutter settings for mistake-free photo lighting.
