Korean consumer electronics company Samsung has unveiled seven digital camera models at a press conference in Europe, according to various websites.
The most notable model is Samsung's Pro815, a model we've mentioned several times on this news page of late. As we confirmed last month, the camera has an 8 megapixel imager and Schneider Kreuznach 15x optical zoom lens. Other features include an electronic viewfinder, 3.5" TFT LCD display, 1.44" top LCD (that doubles as a waist-level viewfinder and info LCD), pop-up flash and hot shoe, and power from a 1900 mAh battery. Other new models include two new L-series Digimax cameras, both with five megapixel imagers. The Digimax L50 features a 3x optical zoom, 2.5" LCD, 11 scene modes, and MPEG 4 video. The Digimax L55W sports a 4.8x optical zoom lens that offers a wide angle 28mm equivalent, as well as a 2.8" wide-view LCD display. Three further five megapixel cameras are added to the Digimax A-series. The Digimax A50 and A55W are similar, including a 2.5" LCD display - but where the A50 offers a 3x optical zoom, the A55W boosts this to a 4.8x optical zoom lens. The Digimax A502 has a fixed focal-length lens and 1.8" LCD display. Finally, the Digimax V800 updates the existing model to eight megapixels, while retaining the 2.5" LCD, Schneider Kreuznach 3x optical zoom lens, and 32MB built-in memory. Samsung USA has not announced any plans for these models at this time, but should the company do so, you'll hear it on our news page...
