PRESS RELEASE: StudioLine Photo 2 Optimizes Image Management Workflow for All Photographers
Release 2.11 Brings a New Level of Ease to Archiving and Managing Photos Along With Enhancements for Desktop Publishing and Online Albums
UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J.--July 25, 2005--H&M Systems Software, Inc. today introduced Release 2.11 of its award-winning StudioLine(R) Photo 2 digital imaging software. Release 2.11 benefits photographers and designers of all skill levels with ease-of-use enhancements when loading photos and by streamlining image management. Users also benefit from easier online album creation and improved interfacing with desktop publishing tools.
"When it comes to making a photographer's job easier, StudioLine Photo 2 strives to offer the highest level of convenience at a price that attracts both pros and amateurs," says Peter Oltersdorf, marketing director, H&M Software. "The level of flexibility and ease of use added to StudioLine 2.11 make it the best image management software in its price range."
New Level of Convenience The universal StudioLine Explorer for images, folders and online albums offers a convenient toolbar slider to freely choose thumbnail sizes. This capability allows similar images to be assessed and distinguished before loading.
New toolbar buttons in the image archive allow users to quickly rate images, add them to a light box or designate them for later use in email, online albums, printing or CD/DVD writing. One can even sort images by their rating.
Intuitive Image Loading to Guide Novices Other enhancements to StudioLine Explorer make image loading a very simple task for even the newest photographers. The "Select All" button enables users to simply load an entire folder with a single mouse click rather than having to select each image individually. There is also an option to include images from all subfolders.
The revised "Load Images" panel enables photographers to easily choose a designated folder in the image archive. An option to "Match Folder Hierarchy" creates subfolders in the image archive that match the folder structure of the original folders.
StudioLine Explorer Adds Comfort with Windows(R) XP Most cameras store photos in the industry standard "DCIM" (Digital Camera Images) folder. Under Windows XP, users can connect their camera or flash memory card reader and StudioLine Photo 2.11 will automatically check for an existing DCIM folder, display it in the StudioLine Explorer and launch the "Load Images" panel.
Optimized Workflow for Desktop Publishing Meeting production requirements has gotten easier with StudioLine Photo 2.11, whether exporting a batch of images as web graphics or for desktop publishing. Users can define a maximum image size in pixels, inches or centimeters. A new option takes the orientation of each image into consideration and uses the larger specified "size" for the longer "side" of an image, and vice versa.
A handy preview window shows the images based on all settings, in the specified size and quality. Users can then watch the preview while experimenting with quality settings to find the smallest possible file size for use on the Internet. The automatic "naming" feature can combine image names, image tags and sequence numbers to create meaning file names or to control the order of appearance in third party applications.
Online Albums Made Simple StudioLine Photo 2.11 offers a more convenient web gallery wizard for publishing attractive online albums in a few easy steps. Users simply choose a design and the wizard will neatly organize all available options in a window. Designers can then immediately preview the gallery and return to the options for any adjustments.
