A news article from Forbes.com reports that Konica Minolta Holdings Inc. has raised net profits one percent in the first quarter to June 2005, thanks in part to a focus on higher-end digital camera models.
The company saw digital camera unit sales at its photo imaging division fall 23% to some 550,000 units last quarter, but reported that its average retail pricing for digital cameras rose an impressive 17% in the same period. Quarterly operating losses for the division - a whopping ¥2.0 billion a year ago - were reduced to around ¥700 million.
