A press release from Casio Inc. today announces two new digital camera models for the North American market.
The Casio EXILIM EX-Z110 and EX-Z120 are closely related, sharing a similar body that features a choice of optical viewfinder and 2.0" LCD display, as well as SD/MMC storage, and power from two AA batteries. Where the lower-spec EX-Z110 couples these with a six megapixel imager and 6.3 - 18.9mm zoom lens, the EX-Z120 offers a seven megapixel imager and 7.9 - 23.7mm lens. It should be noted that both cameras offer the same 35mm-equivalent range of 38 - 114mm, however, since the higher-res EX-Z120 uses a larger 1/1.8" CCD imager, in place of the smaller 1/2.5" chip used in the EX-Z110. One further difference is that the EX-Z110 offers slightly more available built-in memory than the EX-Z120 - 8.7MB versus 8.3MB. The Casio EXILIM EX-Z110 and EX-Z120 will go on sale in early to mid-September. The EX-Z110 will cost $279, while the EX-Z120 will have a list price of $329.
