Leaf: new 28 & 33mpix digital backs By

According to a press release published on the Photo District News Online website, Leaf Systems Inc. (a Kodak company) has announced two new medium format digital camera backs.
The Leaf Aptus 65 and Aptus 75 offer resolutions of 28 and 33 megapixels respectively, and both include a 6 x 7cm (3.6 inch diagonal) touch-screen LCD display. The camera backs both offer a choice of uncompressed or 2:1 losslessly compressed RAW file formats, and an ISO sensitivity range of 50 - 800. Alongside these announcements, the company will also introduce a new 30GB Leaf Digital Magazine, accommodating the huge 160 - 200MB file sizes of the digital backs in uncompressed mode.
The Leaf Aptus 75 will reach photographers first, with introduction scheduled for the PhotoPlus Expo in New York, on October 20th 2005, andproduct availability in November. The Leaf Aptus 65 will follow in the first quarter of 2006. Pricing isn't mentioned in the press release, but both backs will have an available three-year warranty, as well as Upgrade and Trade-In programs.
