The Pentax Optio 50L shares the same lens, imager, and most other functionality of the previous model, but with the optical viewfinder removed in favour of a larger (but slightly lower resolution) LCD display. Body thickness is increased by a few millimeters and the control layout adjusted to accomodate the larger display.

The Pentax Optio 50L will not be sold outside Europe. Pricing should be in the region of €230 with the camera going on sale this December.
