If you want to convert your iView MediaPro catalog annotations to Aperture projects -- or vice versa -- this program makes it easy.
Adam Tow has released his $15 shareware Annoture 0.9.2 to transfer 22 IPTC annotations from iView MediaPro to Aperture and back. System requirements are simply Mac OS X 10.4.3, Aperture and iView MediaPro.
The AppleScript Studio application presents a simple dialog box on launch that lets you:
1. Select the target application (either Aperture or MediaPro)
2. Select the iView Catalog
3. Select the Aperture Library
4. Select the Aperture Project
A progress bar with an image count is updated as annotations are copied from one database to the other. The program annotates every Aperture version of a master image with MediaPro metadata. It alternately copies annotations from the first Aperture version found in the selected album, project or folder to the MediaPro catalog.
Preference settings include checkboxes to confirm before copying, ignore file extensions, overwrite existing annotations and skip empty fields.
