HP Unveils Spring Line of Sleek, Ultra-compact Digital Cameras Features two industry firsts – a wireless camera dock and the new HP Design Gallery PALO ALTO, Calif., Jan. 4, 2006 – HP today announced its new line of digital cameras – seven in total – that deliver innovative features to help everyday digital snappers shoot like the professionals. The new cameras feature bigger, brighter LCD screens, an on-camera button for ordering and sharing photos through Snapfish(1), HP’s online photo service, and new in-camera technologies that boost creativity and make it easier to take great pictures. The company also introduced the industry’s first wireless camera dock that enables access to Snapfish via the camera dock using a home TV. When connected to the HP Photosmart Wireless Dock Base(2), the HP Photosmart Premium Camera Dock(2) allows users to easily send photos to Snapfish, a PC or printer from a TV via a wireless network(3). Latest generation HP Real Life technologies feature HP Design Gallery The new HP Photosmart M- and R-series digital cameras feature HP Design Gallery, an industry first that enables consumers to quickly and easily add creative effects and borders to their photos right on the camera. With HP Design Gallery, consumers can choose up to 10 different borders, including burnt, soft or torn edges, 12 different artistic effects, such as kaleidoscope, retro and slimming, and four unique color tints. All of these creative touches can be simply applied to photos with just one touch of a button on the back of the camera without spending extensive time using sophisticated software on a PC. In addition, HP enhanced two of its Real Life technologies: The company unveiled automatic in-camera red-eye removal, an updated version of its industry leading in-camera red-eye removal, and an improved version of HP Image Advice, which immediately provides real-time feedback to users about how to improve a specific picture the next time it is captured. The new R-series digital cameras also feature existing HP Real Life technologies such as in-camera panorama stitching, high-quality VGA video and Adaptive Lighting to bring the details out of the shadows. HP Real Life technologies take the guesswork out of digital photography and make it simple to produce great photos that are crisp, realistic and true-to-life. High-quality cameras at affordable prices The slim, premium-styled R-series digital cameras feature bright LCDs for indoor and outdoor viewing and are thin enough to easily fit inside a pocket.
