Kodak's DC50 digital camera. Courtesy of Kodak, with modifications by Michael R. Tomkins. Review: Kodak digicams - 10 years of change

It would probably be safe to say that in our years of writing this news page, we've long since lost count of how many hundreds (thousands?) of digital camera reviews we've read.

The folks over at the DCViews website have managed to publish one of the most unique reviews we've seen lately, however. In a comparison review with a twist, they've put Kodak's EasyShare V550 model up against a camera that started many on their conversion to digital photography - 1996's Kodak Digital Science DC50.

The review really makes it clear just how far we've come in ten years. The V550 puts fourteen times as many pixels on your subject, and offers better connectivity, better storage, plus a better user interface - all in a package that is 90% smaller, 73% lighter, and costs less than a third of the price. It makes for a very interesting - and fun - read. Our compliments to the DCViews folks for a great idea!
