Several of Canon's EOS-series digital SLRs have today received firmware updates from the headquarters of Canon Inc. in Japan.
Equivalent updates have yet to appear on Canon USA's website, but full details and the update files are available in English on Canon Japan's BeBit site. The updates are: - Canon EOS 30D version 1.0.4
- Corrects problems displaying Simplified or Traditional Chinese characters on the camera's LCD display.
- Canon EOS 5D version 1.0.5
- Fixes a problem where images have very low saturation when using the Standard, Clear, or Twilight picture styles coupled with a color density of +4.
- Fixes a problem where the shutter release won't function when using the EF 85mm F1.2L lens and the Speedlite 580EX flash. (Cameras with a serial number containing a 1 in the fifth digit, eg. XXXX1XXXXX, will apparently need to be returned to a Service Center to fix this problem, however).
- Canon EOS-1D Mark II N version 1.0.4
- Fixes a problem where images have very low saturation when using the Standard, Clear, or Twilight picture styles coupled with a color density of +4.
- Fixes a problem where images are overexposed when using the Focusing Screen Ec-S
