lightzone.jpg Light Crafts Releases LightZone 1.3
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource
(Monday, April 3, 2006 - 14:34 EDT)

The second update in a week provides an RGB mode in ZoneMapper and more Raw file support.

Light Crafts has again updated ZightZone, its cross-platform image editing solution based on the Zone System, introducing Color Cast and Color Balance tools in addition to improved noise reduction, new histogram and sampler views, a command to invert masks and some bug fixes. The new version also treats grayscale images as RGB to allow color tools to be used on them. A Help menu has been implemented as well.

New Features

ZoneMapper now has a setting for RGB mode, as well as the original
Luminosity mode. RGB mode is useful in some situations where
Luminosity mode gives unsatisfactory results with saturated colors.
Pentax Raw-capable cameras are now supported, including *ist D, *ist DS,
and *ist DL.
Presets for Raw cameras from Canon and Nikon have been revised to
produce more accurate colors.

The free update is available from the LightZone update page.
